Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this competitive examination, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Must have passed the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination in one sitting with three (03) passes in the Bio-Science or Bio-Systems Technology streams.
- Must have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination with credit passes (C) for Sinhala/Tamil, Mathematics, and Science.
- Age Limit:
- Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years of age as of the closing date (May 29, 2026).
- Physical Fitness:
- Candidates must be physically fit to engage in practical agricultural work and field training.
Selection Process and Examination
Admission is granted based on the results of an Open Competitive Examination conducted by the Department of Agriculture.
- Subjects: The exam usually includes papers on General Intelligence and Subject-related Technical Knowledge.
- Exam Center: Scheduled to be held in major cities including Colombo, Peradeniya, and others (details will be on the admission card).
