Eligibility Criteria

Age Limits & General Rules

• Nationality: Must be a Sri Lankan citizen.
• Age limit: 18–25 years for Sub Inspector posts (up to 28 years for serving police officers); 18–24 years for Police Constable posts as of the closing date.
• Marital Status & Physical Requirements: Applicants must be unmarried (divorcees, widows, and single parents are not qualified). Height minimum is 5′ 6″ (167.64 cm) for SI and 5′ 4″ (162.56 cm) for Constable. Chest minimum (on expiration) is 32″ (81.28 cm) for SI and 30″ (76.2 cm) for Constable.

Post-Wise Educational Qualifications (Quick View)

1. For Sub Inspector of Police (IT, Medical, Technical & Maintenance Trades): Requires passing 6 subjects at G.C.E. O/L in no more than 2 sittings with 5 credits including Maths, Science, Sinhala/Tamil, and English; AND passing 3 subjects at G.C.E. A/L in one sitting (excluding General English/General Test).
2. For Police Constable (Technical, Mechanical & Instructor Trades): Requires passing 6 subjects at G.C.E. O/L in max 2 sittings with 5 credits (including Maths, Science, Sinhala/Tamil, English) OR passing 6 O/L subjects in max 2 sittings with 5 credits (including Maths and Sinhala/Tamil) AND passing 2 subjects at G.C.E. A/L in one sitting.
